Kodi work originates from Gujarat and Rajasthan's tribal folk traditions. Each cowrie shell on this blouse is individually hand-fixed, radiating outward from a circular mirror centre in a floral burst pattern. The hem carries a double row — alternating mirrors and kodi — that catches the light and moves with every step. The multicolour shells give it vibrancy without needing any extra embellishment.

Is the embroidery hand or machine?
The kodi (cowrie shells) and mirror-work on this blouse are hand-applied — each shell is individually placed in a floral cluster pattern. Minor variation between pieces is natural and part of what makes handwork special.
Will sequins/beads fall off?
Cowrie shells and mirrors are firmly fixed during assembly. With normal wear and careful hand-washing they hold very well. Avoid snagging on sharp jewellery clasps or zip teeth.
