The satin-silk base has a smooth, glossy hand and falls in soft folds, so pleating is easy. It feels light for the amount of zari on it, and the sheen picks up light nicely under evening lamps and wedding halls.
The Craft Behind the Ghungroo Work with Gold Zari Weaving
Gold zari is woven into bride-and-groom figures, peacocks and temple motifs along the border and pallu, with smaller buttas on the body. Small golden ghungroo bells are attached on top, giving a gentle jingle when you move.
