The Craft Behind the Bandhani Print
Bandhani is a resist-dyeing technique where the fabric is tied at hundreds of points before dyeing — each white dot you see is the result of one of those ties. The outer lehenga carries dense Bandhani dots across tiered cotton fabric, finished with a gold gota border at the hem. The kedia layer is separately embroidered in rich gamthi mirror work — multicolor thread and reflective mirrors arranged across the bodice in a traditional Kutch pattern.
