What It's Made Of
Ajarakh cotton is a medium-weight natural fabric that breathes well and holds print pigments cleanly. It carries a slight grain from the block-printing process, has good structure for a fitted blouse, and becomes softer and more relaxed with washing. The olive-green base shows the morpich motifs at their most subdued.
Morpich Print — Up Close
Morpich is the Gujarati name for the paisley motif — a traditional curved teardrop design found across Indian textiles for centuries. Ajrakh printing uses hand-carved wooden blocks to stamp the motifs layer by layer, which is why the print has depth and precision that screen-printing rarely achieves. The pink and white detailing on the olive base keeps the overall print soft and very wearable.
